Day One
Airport/Colombo
Arrivals at airport and
transfer to Colombo in the evening do a city tour of
Colombo.
Colombo is the capital of Srilanka. The places of
interest are Pettah Bazaar where you can do shopping for
Bargains the old parliament in fort, a Buddhist temple
in Chinese architecture in the middle of the famous
Bayra lake and a Hindu Temple, Colombo Museum,
residential areas, Dinner and overnight stay at Colombo
Hilton or Similar
Day
Two
Colombo/Pinnewala/Dambulla/Kandalama
After breakfast proceed to Pinnewala to visit the
elephant orphanage.
This
orphanage is the residence of baby
elephants where you will see baby elephants are cared
and fed and their daily life. On completion proceed to
Dambulla visit the cave temples of Dambulla
which was donated by King Walagambahu in the first
century BC to monks. This is the most impressive of
Srilanka's cave temples, is a complex of five caves with
over 2000sq meters of paintings and these caves contains
over 150 images of Buddha, Dinner and overnight stay at
Kandalma Hotel or similar
Day Three
Kandalama/Sigiriya/Polonnaruwa
After Breakfast leave for Sigiriya which is a world
heritage site built in the 05th century AD. This ancient
Kingdom is called "Lion Rock" The palace complex
consists in a water garden, innermost, and rampart on
completion proceed to Polonnaruwa ,in the evening do a
visit to Polonnaruwa which was the second capital of
Srilanka in 11th and 12th centuries AD which too a world
heritage site. You will see here famous Gal Viharaya
where four splendid statues of Lord Buddha, ruins of
Royal Palace. a lotus pond, on completion return to
Hotel Kandalama or similar for Dinner and
overnight stay
Day Four.
Kandalama/Matale/Kandy.
After breakfast proceed to Kandy , en route visit a
spices garden in Matale in the evening do a city tour of
Kandy. Kandy was the last capital of Srilanka. Many of
the legends, customs. Cloths, traditions are still you
will see alive in this zone, in the evening visit temple
of the tooth relic and there after witness a cultural
show featuring traditional Srilankan dancing. Dinner and
overnight stay at Earls Regency hotel or similar.
Day Five
Kandy/Peradeniya/Tea Plantation/ Nuwera Eliya
After breakfast proceed to Peradeniya visit Royal
Botanical Garden
The
botanical Garden was first built as a pleasure garden by
a Singhala king and was expanded by the British. It is
147 acres in extent. You will see amazing varieties of
trees, plants, proceed to visit a tea plantation and a
factory, where the best tea in the world is produced and
taste a cup of tea in the factory. On completion proceed
to Nuwera Eliya which is Srilankas's most popular hill
resort, also the heart of Srilanka's tea zone producing
a significant share of the world's best tea. Dinner and
overnight stay at Tea Factory Hotel or similar.
Day Six
Nuwera Eliya/ Ella/Yala National Park
After breakfast proceed to Yala via Ella Wallavaya. Do a
safari of the Yala National park by jeep. Yala is the
second largest national park in Srilanka and is the home
of wild elephants, wild boar, wild buffalo, leopards,
bear , deer and crocodiles Lunch en route, Lunch at
Tissa Maharama.Dinner and overnight stay at Yala Village
Hotel or similar..
Day Seven
Yala/Galle/Colombo.
After
breakfast proceed to Galle, visit the Dutch fort which
was originally built by Portuguese, on completion
proceed to Colombo. Dinner and overnight stay at Colombo
Hilton or similar
Day Eight
Colombo/Airport
After breakfast proceed to airport for departure |
